When your cabinets have broken hinges, it would be impossible to close it and keep anything you keep in there safe. Broken hinges are commonly caused by rusting and forceful shutting and opening of your kicthen cabinet doors.

You can just buy some tools and materials from your favorite DIY shop and fix the hinges by yourself. After doing so, make sure you oil them and be careful in using your cabinets.

3.   Broken knobs and locks

Broken locks and knobs are common problems with cabinets. And they are very easy to fix by yourself. Buy your materials at the nearest handyman store and you can work on it anytime you wanted. Remember to buy quality materials so you won’t have to stress yourself fixing it over again. Your cabinets will be less efficient if they don’t have good locks and knobs.

4.   Chipping paint or dull finish

As time passes, your kitchen cabinets will surely fade its color or finish. Its paint might chip and the finish might get dull or scratched. That is just common to most cabinets especially if you have children at home as well as pets. Depreciation and temperature are also other factors.

What you can do is maintain the finish of your kitchen cabinets by repainting or applying gloss or tint.
